Best degreaser for shotgun action?

Recommended Posts

How did you get grease in the action? I simply use white spirit to clean and flush the action and when dry a few drops of light oil on pivots and contact points. Save the grease for where it's needed on wear points like trunnions or forend knuckles but it has no place inside the action.

Personally I avoid WD40 because it leaves a sticky residue which can cause problems with Beretta actions and some of the other more modern designs that have shrouded cocking rods and interceptor sears.
