Old farrier
Hi Bit of advice needed looking forward to a day out with ayano3 and to make the most of it I would like to know what I will need as I'm sure a tweed suite and brogues is not the attire for the marsh So over to the experts in the PW forum A comprehensive list please Thanks in advance All the best Of
Big Mat
When shooting with ayano3 my advice would be to bring: Good sense of humour Money for breakfast Biscuits for the dog and some cartridges if you are feeling really lucky! fenboy
Tweed and brogues are perfect for the wash OF, I am sure your guide for the weekend will only be too happy to carry you over any mud you may encounter. Seriously , if you have chest waders take them along as they will cover any eventuality , not sure what Grahams plans are for you , I dare say they are not even made yet as much will depend on where the duck / geese are frequenting . Waterproof and warm jacket , wading stick a game bag or such like, cartridge wise expect the birds to he on the high side ( they often are ) so bring 3s for the duck and BBs for geese. marsh man
Thanks O F with your kind offer of having a breakfast with you , sorry to say I live around 80 miles from where you will be, and if what I have heard is true how fit those boys are I don't think I would be able to keep up walking over soft mud for well over 2miles with thy boots on and carrying half hundred weight of equipment plus the extra weight of the ducks and geese to lug all the way back ....no wonder they have got big appetites and mussels like a Russian shot putter.......But they do respect there elders O F so you will be alright..
