TaxiDriver
Anyone know where to buy them in decent size tin or jar rather than the stupid sized tins you get in the supermarket aisle

Whitebridges
I buy them in "stupid sized tins". We like them a lot. I can't recall ever seeing them in places like Macro in huge tins? Easier to buy them in a slab of small tins, I think?
TaxiDriver
Cheers fellas, I thought at one point Aldi did them in a decent sized jar (think lb of jam sized jar) But I couldn't find them :(

felly100
The big uns are great aren't they. Have you ever tried cooking a leg of lamb with anchovies stabbed into the meat along with garlic and rosemary?Fantastic!
Fisherman Mike
I buy them fresh and either freeze them or cure them myself. I have a large pickle jar with about 300 in at the moment. You think you might have tasted anchovies but unless you have had them fresh home cured you haven't... http://www.thefishsociety.co.uk/suprafish/anchovies/anchovies--fresh.html

figgy
I like anchovies but on bread and butter, that's a bit much. Tried gentlemans relish years ago, very strong flavour.
Thunderbird
I like anchovies, but dislike gentlemens relish for some reason. I use them quite often as a seasoning for dishes, it doesn't make the dish taste fishy, in the same way that seasoning with salt shouldn't (apart from in a few cases) make a dish taste salty.
