Fallow deer taking the sun.

This particular farm has lots of pigeons on the rape but I cannot work out how to shoot them. They come from different directions at different times of day and in varying numbers. The frustration of it all.

Some recompense came in the sighting of these seven fallow sunning themselves out of the wind in sub zero temperatures. There are at least three different age groups amongst this lot including a couple of big boys.

I don't normally see them until I nearly step on them, then I need a defibrillator to get my pump going again, I don't know why they cant put a sign out ' Deer sleeping, please keep away', the last one jumped out almost between my feet and fell into a deep muddy ditch, it took about 30 seconds to get back on its feet and jump out the other side, covered in mud, biggish female roe, gave me a right dirty look as it took off across the field, excuse the pun, ( covered in mud - dirty look ) its the way I tell them,

Hey Jdog, you should organise a few buddies to sit out around the perm and shoot the pigeons whatever direction they come from. Nice photo, you could photo shop it and enter the calender competition on Country file.:rolleyes:

Nice to see a mix group, the hunt keeps splitting the groups up around where I shoot, never hang around, take a mouthful of feed and move on. Gets very challenging to harvest the right one.

If you want a change of pigeons then your more than welcome tomorrow. Stripey99 can't hit them so plenty to try t.
