hatsanmad
Hi all. I gave up smoking and started vaping nearly two years ago. What im wandering is, is there vapers on here? And any of the vapers do cloud chasing? Its just out of curiosity.
corkycorksta
Don't know what cloud chasing is ? but I started using an ecig about 14 months ago. It stopped me smoking fags completely but I seem to be even more addicted to it than I was cigarettes. The problem is that because it's much less smelly and antisocial I have ended up using it in the house which I never used to, and sitting in a vehicle which a rarely did. I also discovered that it doesn't easily set off smoke detectors so use one on long haul (and short) flights. I will happily puff away on it in non smoking company which again I never used to do. Not sure I'm any better off health wise to be honest - but it is a lot cheaper.
Richie10
Haven't understood the cloud chasing craze, probably too old!
old man
Probably higher strength Nicotine? Don't stop trying to stop?
pegasus bridge
I don't , and hadn't heard about it until we took a young lad on who 'vapes' , he takes pride in making a huge cloud, the machine he uses is like a house brick, he makes his own juice now too- All a bit weird. He was vaping in his car recently when someone pulled his door open thinking it was a suicide attempt !!
Mungler
I still think they should prescribe e-cigs on the NHS to help people stop smoking - it's the only thing that worked for me. Whilst I haven't vaped in well over a year now, I know that it's always there as a smoking replacement.
hatsanmad
Basiclly cloud chasing is a step further from normal vaping. The idea of it is to blow the biggest clouds you can using a specialist mechanical mod and you rebuild the atomiser using low resistance wires and organic cotton and you drip your liquid onto the cotton. I got into it this year and im hooked. But i do agree for quiting smoking electronic cigarettes are good for getting you off the cigs but very difficult to come off them aswell. mick miller
Just stop. I did over ten years ago, just got sick of the bad breath, stinking clothes and sore throat. Mind you, my alcohol intake in the evening sky rocketed for a while
OJW
Just stop. I did over ten years ago, just got sick of the bad breath, stinking clothes and sore throat. Mind you, my alcohol intake in the evening sky rocketed for a while I find alcahol is the thing that makes me 1000% more likely to give in and smoke. Hard enough sober! I used Champix pills to quit. Mind you, my alcohol intake in the evening sky rocketed for a while Same as Mick but I still vape and gave up the rollies 2yrs ago in May. Cloud chasing is not for the faint hearted imho. The vapour heat required burns like you've chain smoked 40 fags and makes me cough like I've smoked 60!!
Thunderbird
I'm still unclear - what is the actual specific point of cloud chasing and how does it help you give up smoking? What's next - actually making it rain Vitamin N? Edited February 11, 2015 by Thunderbird

What's next - actually making it rain Vitamin N? Cloud chasing doesn't help with the quitting process so to speak. It's the quitting process taken to the extreme by people trying to make as much vapour as possible by vaping sub ohm atomisers. Check out YouTube for more. There is no real point to it other than creating plumes of vapour.

SHOOTEMUP
Better Cloud chasing than chasing the dragon. Agreed I know seven people who use these now instead of smoking and they seem to work but when I bought one all it does is make me cough even though I have tried all sorts of juice! Must be me Edited February 12, 2015 by SHOOTEMUP

jeffjjack
I too am a vaper, only been vaping this time for about 4 months and phased out the roll ups... aint had one now for about a 2 months and not missing them... To me the whole concept of vaping was to replace smoking and it being (allegedly) better for you helped you ween yourself off the tar and chemical sodden fags by reducing the nictoine content of the liquid. Well thats what I have done! Having said this there is an increasing trend to customize your vape machine into a cloud producing monster cappable of filling a room with smoke in a second... its a competition thing "mines bigger and better than yours" kinda thing. The brother in law and myself are highly amused by one of the lads that works in a local vape store... just mention the words "cloud chaser" and he appears from behind a curtain with a device like a cross between darth mauls light saber and doctor whos screwdriver and promptly disappears in a cloud of smoke with the words "who mentioned cloud chasers" I'm sure this customization malarkey must cost more than smoking!!! jeffjjack
Which one is the best to get? I have had a few and the one that has enabled me to stop smoking would be an aspire atomiser with a medium sized variable voltage battery... doenst look too intimidating, lasts a day on one charge, good vape and you can still get it in your pocket! jeffjjack
Agreed I know seven people who use these now instead of smoking and they seem to work but when I bought one all it does is make me cough even though I have tried all sorts of juice! Must be me The coughing is a hurdle that you should try to over come.... When you first use one they do make you cough. its to do with the smokers lungs and then breathing steam (which it effectively is) The best advice I could give you is get a variable voltage battery that enables you to turn the vape to low. Start by taking small "hits" and this should help with the cough. It will go away but when you do stop the fags your lugs will have a clear out so some people have a bit of a chesty cough for a few days. Also I didn't deny myself a cigarette and phased in the vape... I found after a while I got what I wanted out of the vape and it tasted better that the fags. I was also aware that after many years smoking stopping just like that can cause many health issues as it shocks your system... phasing fags out helped me
stubby
Which one is the best to get? depending where you are in essex, I'd recomend you take a trip to romford and see mick here https://www.facebook.com/EssexVapeLTD?fref=ts he will happily show you the different mods you can get, plus you can try out lots of different flavours and strengths whilst in the shop for free, yes you can pick up e-cigs for peanuts from the local corner shop, but like everything, start with something decent and you wont regret it, trust me I've tried loads visited there today, and my missus even purchased one Edited February 12, 2015 by stubby

hatsanmad
Which one is the best to get?[/quot e] If your a first time vapour then a vision spinner battery with a decent tank like a kangertech aero tank mini or the nautilus aspire mini is ideal to start with there are cheaper kits availble but they are unreliable. If you want to start cloud chasing then a half decent mech mod is fine you can get clones off tebay cheap then you need a rda (rebuildable dripping attomiser) again clones on tebay then kanthal and organic cotton. Batteries best bet is a vaping shop as theres to many dodgy fakes about. But if you want to start cloud a semi decent mech mod and a kangertech sub tank mini will do clouds and normal vaping. What i can say is dont go into rda's without understanding ohm's law and your battery limits
