You want loading data! recipes aint a cooking term in my house, my wife is far more dangerous than any reloading combination. Get yourself a good reloading manual, I have the Lee modern reloading second edition and its been good enough for me. Decide on what bullet weights your going to use, if you are going for the higher weight bullets ie 85gr and upward I would start with viht 160, its a good price, seems very available and fills the case well. Reloading is not dangerous if you do your research and concentrate on what your doing, accidents happen from silly mistakes. The key to successful and accurate reloading is consistency, to start with you will load hundreds but you soon calm down with a few accurate loads. Livefast123 Posted March 30, 2015 Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 You've made a good start getting a couple of mentors, now get yourself a reloading manual (I use Lee) and digest everything. Youtube is also a great source of video information. I use all Lee kit and find it great value for money and it works well, others may like using different kit. Redgum Posted March 31, 2015 Report Share Posted March 31, 2015 If you can get any I'd sell ya some but I've only got two tubs left Availability of powder is something to take into account, what are you shooting, varget is great for the lighter bullets but it seems its not easy to get hold of, I use it for 308 but when I run out I will change to Viht 140 because its cheaper and locally available. Its a bit soul destroying getting a lovely accurate load and then having to drive a few hundred miles desperately trying to find supplies. COL 2.650" Accuracy: .263" centre to centre 3 shot group @ 100yds. 70gr Nosler Ballistic tip. 49.5gr Vit 160. COL 2.650" Accuracy: .275" centre to centre 3 shot group @ 100yds. 70gr Nosler Ballistic tip. 40.8gr Reloader15. COL 2.650" Accuracy: .380" centre to centre 3 shot group @ 100yds. 62gr Barnes varmint grenade. 44gr Varget. COL 2.680 Accuracy: .290" centre to centre 3 shot group @ 100yds. 62gr Barnes varmint grenade. 43gr Vit 540. COL 2.680" Accuracy: .221" centre to centre 3 shot group @ 100yds. Only recently came up with this load when I ran out of Varget, begrudgingly bought the V540 as it was all that they had. Spent an afternoon working on it and not only did it produce the smallest groups I've ever shot but my point of impact came up over 3/4" so I'm assuming higher velocities but haven't chrono'd any to prove that yet. I always try a take one of the top 3 powders for the bullet weight. I don't like giving out my data as I do not want to be held responcable if something goes wrong.
