Because ukip know the vast majority of us proletariate don't want to be in the eu, a referendum would only go one way

The only poll I have seen has it 51/49% in favour of leaving - so basically a dead heat. Based on that sort of numbers one would expect a party to at least acknowledge they might lose it and let us know their contingency plans!

Perhaps a vast majority of UKIP voters I agree.. But not the vast majority of working class voters...many conservatives amongst them.

Only the incumbent Government can deliver a referendum on the EU in the short term... everyone knows that.

That's what you tory die hards believe.

Most of my family are traditional labour voters, I worked for the last 15 years with mostly tory voters..... Suprising the number of all sides who want out of the eu and increasingly the number looking towards ukip.

I anticipate ukip getting a massive percentage of the votes this may, indeed possibly being second in every constituency they don't win in, I fear they may not get a majority but neither did camoron and the s-tories last time.

I will keep waving the purple flag and banging the ukip drum at every opportunity........the s-tories may give an eu referendum, but the urge to leave won't be there and camoron will say about renogotiating the eu deal as he thinks tinkering with a dead engine on a sinking ship is the way to save it whilst ukip are building a bigger life raft for us all

Fisherman Mike - you might or might not be right, but have you done your own personal survey of the vast majority of working class voters? I suspect not.

As for the lesson on Parliamentary democracy - bit patronising.

Often disagreed with gordon, but on this we are on the same page

The challenge UKIP face is that there is absolutely no prize in coming second. They can come second in every constituency and get a higher percentage share of the vote than any other party overall but still not win a single seat. It's winning seats that's important. They will possibly get 3 seats. 5 max. Do you think Ed/Sturgon will take any account of the votes that UKIP get when they are in power? They won't. They will just take it as an endorsement of their policies.

It's that that scares me more than UKIP. But that's our so called democracy for you. I just wish the Conservatives and UKIP had agreed to play nicely and not fight against one another.

Actually a lot of the Conservative inner circle are disappointed in Cameron. They thought he would be more Eurosceptic than he turned out to be.

There are a few reports around that Suzanne Evans of UKIP (deputy chairperson) has stated that if they felt they could reform the EU she would campaign to stay in.

Just take stock before you vote and ask what history tells us about who has done the most damage to shooting in the past. Who brought in the Protection of birds act when we lost a number of quarry species , who brought in the countryside and wildlife act when we lost more quarry species , who brought in the Countryside and wildlife admendant act when restrictions were brought in on many shooting areas , for example Natural England demanded notice of concents before you can shoot in some areas , who brought in laws and restrictions on keeping guns and what sort of gun you can hold after Dunblane and Hungerford.

The answer = the Tories

As for UKIP just a lony right party who hate anyone who is not born and bred in England and yet led by a man who comes from foren ancestors. Seems the beleve we can live without Europe , but will only drag the country down if the get there way. A party who has little understanding of shooting or the needs of the countryside if you read their letter to the CA.

Mind you not that I would vote Labour , but the do have a better track record when it comes to shooting despite a reputation otherwise.

You cant do that...you must vote for UKIP...being a UKIP voter seems to be a pre-requisite of PW membership. If you dare to have a contrary opinion you must be an anti and vote Green ....

Oops now I'm being childish....

kdubya wins - referee stops fight as Fisherman Mike is hopelessly outclassed.

Outnumbered possibly outclassed never...

Henry Fonda got his point across in the end...

Well last time I looked it is a free country so I can vote (or not) for who I want to, like I said, whoever you vote for government wins and none of them have our best interests in mind, I think they are a bit like a lot of people now, they want to be famous, not for anything they have done, they just want to be famous.

I don't care who anyone votes for to be honest. I know where my vote is going, it is up to each of us to vote as we see fit.

A lot of people died in the second world war fighting to ensure we had the freedom of choice to do so (amongst other things) or not, as the case may be. Not many of them had the freedom of choice to decide whether they fought or not.

If you're going to criticise any party then at least get your facts right; the above is just sheer twaddle. For a start the UKIP party leader is married to a German; as far as I'm aware he doesn't 'hate' her.
