rjimmer
The best advice my dad ever gave me was: "Don't start drinking until you are 21". I never tasted alcohol till I was 26, horrible stuff! The only time I go into a pub is to find someone who might be in there, but most of them have died.
thepasty
A virtual forum doesnt even come close to replacing a pub or similar establishment... I love a good pub session with mates, a good yarn, lark around, meet new people, great food, whats not to like?! The sky high beer price is whats killing them. Suffolkngood
Well I had two beers yesterday......the first was a pint of Tiger sat outside pub in sunshine with TightChoke and Simon. The second was a can of Tetley Smooth sat on sofa whilst reading the posts on here. Guess which one was the most enjoyable?

kdubya
Everards Tiger is £3:25 a pint. I enjoyed the Tiger! Oh KW stop being so cynical! £3.25 aint to bad if its decent pint thought it may have been more, can get a good pint of bitter in the clubs up here for just over £2 but £3 for decent pint in a pub is about average. going back to Nice next month over the moon if I can get a pint for less than 12 EU and the bars are FULL all day and night. ayano3
The beer is about £3 a pint around here. But I don't consider the price when at the bar as I am out for a night out in good company. Its worth £20+ not to have to sit in the house and watch the garbage they put on TV now. I only go maybe once a week but its a good way to chill out with good friends. Vince Green
I can take you to pubs in the middle of London where the beer is under £3 a pint, good brews too! Competition is a wonderful thing.

Where were you drinking? London is very cheap if you know where to go. Moons in Leicester Square has a good selection starting at around £2.60 a pint

PhilR
Isn't Youngs brewed by Charles Wells in Bedford now? It's certainly changed to how I remember it in the Youngs pub I used to frequent almost daily.
