spready
For a couple of months now I've had permission on a Large Farm owned by a close family friend for permission to shoot the rabbits and foxes. But had a call to see if I'm able to control the deer population that seem to be on the increase. Now heres the problem, i haven't YET put in for for a variation for something suitable, but the are looking for me to start straight away, now i know it won't cost me my permission as its family and they will be happy to wait for that , but id like to show willing and help out . So just wondered if there are any sensible 'Open Ticket' deer calibre owners that would be interested in a couple of early evenings over on my permission. won't be a permanent permission, no way can i let you go alone , just help me out till my variation comes through. even cheekier would be good if could exchange a couple of evenings deer shooting , for some pigeon shooting

adam789uk
Great offer for someone. I'm just starting out myself so would be no use I'm afraid. But if it helps having done some research, spoken to quite a few people as well as going out in the field, I've just put my variation in for a .308 as I felt this would be the best all round option. Good luck with it all though.
cheekychappy
I would think it has been but make sure the land has been vetted for the caliber you require as well, unless you already have a center fire and open ticket that i guess you have as its a variation. Great offer as well

The Juicer
It's not cheeky at all as you give the terms up front. Are you going to eat the deer?
spready
Guys I've withdrawn the request for assistance of this, as the first chap who seemed brilliant at the time when i took him out went behind my back and contacted my 'Aunty' who owns the farm which he didn't know at the time and tried to convince he could do a better job than me . kept ringing her and for her to stop me shooting there as he was all she needed!! i won't name the ***** but you know who you are and hope you are reading this and just remember blood is thicker than water! so just remember guys when you offer people to come and shoot on your land , you could also fall foul to this rat!!! sorry for the rant and thanks for the genuine people who have offered help Edited June 4, 2015 by spready

There is some great guys on this forum, just stick to the ones who you can see do a lot of posting and engaging in conversations and perhaps ask for some references from other members too. I.e Theres a couple of this thread who I have personally met and see them contribute a lot. Such a shame that you have had to end a great offer due to some wally. Salop Matt
What a rat..... You clearly said in your firs post : "a Large Farm owned by a close family friend" & "i know it won't cost me my permission as its family" The individual must be completely stupid to have tried a stunt like that that. kimgary
+1 for name and shame if this is true, ip address should be black listed from site also!!!! If this had happened to me I would not want it to happen to anyone else, just one bad boy spoils it for the vast majority of good guys. :-( Regards Gary
Davyo
Shouldn't hold a licence as not capable of acting in a trustworthy and respectable manner. You need to think very hard when offering shooting like this ( and a very generous offer at that) of the possablites of someone doing the dirty.Unfortunatly there is a minority out there that will continue to give trust worthy licence holders a bad name.Fortunatly for you it worked out fine but it has obviously left you with a bitter taste in your mouth. The really sad thing is it's a missed opportunity for a genuine skilled stalker to return the favour by agreeing to mentor you as it's quite possible that a mentoring period may come as a condition on your variation for a deer calibre. Bobby199
It's a real shame, because as above. There may well have been the opertunity for an indervidual to pass on knoladge when you got your variation. Which is allways gratifying. John_R
Ross that is such a rotten shame. Good luck with everything, sounds like you need to press on with the variation and crack on yourself.
Sha Bu Le
Spready: this is absolutely unforgivable not to mention totally shameless, I doubt if you will name & shame but have you considered reporting him to the PW admin. The mods and Teal would take a very dim view of such behaviour. There are very clear rules on this forum, unfortunately I don't think this situation is covered by them, however gentlemanly conduct in all things should be expected. This person should be accountable for his actions in some way.
malkiserow
I can understand the OP being reticent about revealing the culprit on an open forum. Maybe the PM system is a little more discreet.
WelshMike
I still think name and shame will help others avoid a similar situation with such a person.
