When I had a Slll I wrote to DVLA to find out the full history. Small fee, can't remember how much, and I got copies of all previous documentation. You can also register with Cazana - https://cazana.com/uk takes a couple of minutes, if you have the original Jersey reg, and it will give you the history of when it was registered, when it changed hands, and all MOT advisories passes and fails. (If it works for Jersey registrations...).

Go on the LRO Forum and someone will be able to tell you who to write to and get a certificate of when your series was built (NOT registered) You can then use this to apply for a corresponding registration and taxation status.

The cut off used to be vehicles constructed prior to mid 1972 not once it reached a certain age but there was talk of the 'historic' taxation being changed.

It's some years since I used to be heavily involved in the LR scene

i think it stops as soon as i sell it and they receive the logbook anyway, or i could just cancel it when i get paper work through and use trade plates for any test drives, saying that its probably best taxed anyway, so i can drive it when its nice and sunny :good::good:
