30-6
How many of you feel it's not worth trying to decoy in bright sunlight? I don't mean the shooter getting hot and sweaty, but how the birds react in bright / hot weather.
fenboy
Yes it is worth it , I have shot some of my biggest bags in hot conditions
Cranfield
If the birds are there, its worth trying to decoy them, regardless of the weather conditions.
pigeon controller
I want to shoot in bright sunlight when ever I can.
Dbw1shrops
My own personal opinion some may not agree is that it highlights your pigeon decoys / dead bird decoys more so I do prefer to shoot on a sunny day but will go out in the search for them no matter what unless it's hissing down

Shotguneddy
Shot my own pb of 137 crows in peak of summer pure sunlight 30 degree heat 3 years ago so if the birds are there so should you be
30-6
I did go out, very sunny and slight wind. Started at about 3pm with sun overhead going right, but hat shaded pretty well, but I did have to leave a few that I lost in the sunlight. Less birds than I expected, none feeding on cut wheat, but did manage to decoy in some stragglers and ended up with 20. Most between 4-30 and 6. Highlight was a sparrowhawk trying to rip decoy off flapper.
ShropshireSam
Had some good days on hot days but need to consider sun position over course of day when choosing hide position so not blinded. I have found that birds don't seem to decoy well when part of pattern is in shade. Anyone else noticed this??
Shotguneddy
I sometimes put my floater or bouncers partly in the shade thinking it might catch there eyes better when they change in light moving up and down. But that's just me it seems to work so good enough
dad
i prefer to sit in the shade but always put deeks in the sun if its out specially as it gets colder
Farma Geddon
Winter time , pigeon certainly unlikely to decoy to birds in the shade.
Smokersmith
We've noticed a correlation between our biggest bags corresponding with the day prior to heavy rain.
WelshMike
We've noticed a correlation between our biggest bags corresponding with the day prior to heavy rain. That advice is no use at all where I live...It rains every day here On a serious note that is an interesting fact.
