NorfolkAYA
Hi all, I'm looking at getting a 20g this week. Just wondering what carts everyone uses as I have never owned on before. I was thinking the Rios 24grm 6...any good?.

Stonepark
7's would be better, maybe even 7 1/2 clay load if using 24g
sitsinhedges
I use 27 or 28 grams of 6 shot. Get good rangy kills with these.
Ttfjlc
I've read Gamebore Traditional Game are a good cartridge, I hope so as they'll be my dads Christmas present!

Ears
Eley High Flyers cheap and OK nocks out pigeons if you shoot them in the right place Just fine. I have not shot the Rio's yet. My favorite is RC Sipe. Edited September 22, 2015 by Ears
DEADLY PLUMBER
My son uses 28gram RC Sipe 6s He finds them not to punchy. They stop pigeons no problem. Not cheap though.
NorfolkAYA
I shot the traditional game last night in fibre wad 24gm, there were filthy and really punchy. Won't be buying them again!!!!
cpaulc
Fiocchi TT 24g 7.5s (fibre) are a nice, and cheap, clay load for me - also fine on pigeons at reasonable ranges. Not too punchy at all. Also use Eley hi-flyer 28g 6s (fiber) for most other shooting. Bit more of a hit, but not horrendous. Although for pigeon shooting, it can get expensive if your out a lot. Shooting a lightweight 12g would be far cheaper, but I'm happy to pay as love my 20g.
Salop Matt
Gamebore and Sipe have beent the best rated cartridges i have enountered in shoots, myself using the Gamebore. ATB Matt
dougall
gamebore/sipe/hull high pheasant....all good.not tried your rios but would suspect they are fine.......you really dont need to put 30/32g up a 20 gauge but if you have to the blackgolds are impressive at a silly price.
