John_R
The jack might have escaped the jaws of a bigger pike.

Twistedsanity
It's funny but I often have to explain to people that I go fishing which is not the same as catching , sitting in solitude by a beautiful lake or river in peace and quiet watching nature is hard to beat sometimes

kent
More likely disease perhaps now on the mend It looks to localised and unlike what you see on one that's been grabbed by a bigger one One side only makes my guess stronger
Paul taylor
Many people don't understand the enjoyment to be gained whether fishing or shooting just by being out in a lovely quite place mate. I had a Dace last week which had most scales missing and the fins where all split like feathers, wondered if a fish eating bird had had a hold of it as it had no teeth marks on it. Depends how big but there are many less toothy predators out in the rivers than pike Chub. Perch trout eels and even barbel and lesser known part time preditory fish will take dace

bazzashadow
you do know you can go in the boat yards and they can`t say anything as long as you don`t touch the bank
KFC
Lovely photo's. I go reservoir Trout fishing and it's worth getting out there just for some of the sunsets. To see Trout leaping clear of the water with the setting sun on a calm evening is a view to behold surpassed only by the sight of a freshly baked Trout on the dinner plate afterwards. bazzashadow
Did not know that but perfer to fish the entrance to them How does that rule work? they don`t own the water so don`t touch the bank and your ok, but most boat yards don`t mind anyway. I was in one in wroxham years ago and he told people on the bank to stop fishing then looked across at me and my uncle, who was against the bank in the boat yard by the toilets and smiled and walked away
