yickdaz
this month has been hard work trying to make any kind of bag, first of all I had a wisdom tooth took out which got infected and being on the right jaw I couldn,t shoot for weeks until it healed up did attempt to shoot one day but a few shots and I was in a lot of pain with the stock banging into it, anyhow I have been out last 3 weekends and only making bags of a dozen or so had 14 yesterday, the decline in bag sizes isn,t a mystery theres a lot of stubbles around and birds are spread out all over the place plus very decoy shy birds its been difficult to find any concentration of them, I thought I would have look today after dinner had an idea of were to look but when I got there nothing was showing scanned around for 20 mins and was on the verge of leaving to look somewhere else when a weak flightline started up across a bean stubble around 1.45pm so watched for a while and it got a bit stronger, I couldn,t shoot the bean field but I could shoot a grass field bordering it so set up by 2.30pm right on the boundary at a large bush knowing I could pull some across done it before quite a few times on this particular field I set the magnet up and decoys behind it, from the off birds pulled across the narrow bean stubble and come round downwind then turn into it towards me, it was steady shooting up till 4pm then it went slower and slower up to 5.30pm when I called it a day, finished on 57 picked lost about 7 birds in a very deep overgrown ditch and a few flew on hit then dropped over the boundary just nice to get them decoying again

JDog
I wondered where you had got to. Good skill in finding that line. I too had a tooth taken out and a resultant infection. The last month I have not been a happy bunny. Edited September 28, 2015 by JDog
pigeon controller
Well done Daz, you have to take every opportunity and shooting the flightline crossing your permission is such a situation. We've been lucky in the way that we had to travel to find the bags. The whole forum is reporting a distinct lack of birds , so your Chance Bag is well deserved . We have a very large crop of acorns which are currently dropping to ripen in the autumn sun so the birds will be even more distributed in the near future. Once again nice to see you back at it .
