ph5172
Our office has now removed the need to wear collar and tie and has instead decided on 'smart casual', the direction being smart jeans and polo shirt i would rather not spend a fortune on branded polos, so does anyone have any ideas? or am i best off going with the standard Fruit of the Loom? Some have tried Primark, Peacocks and the like as a stop gap and they look awful after a couple of washes. Stonepark
Just get some 100% cotton short sleeved shirts and go open necked, much better than a polo shirt.
Mentalmac
Same as above really, casual shirts are good - especially cotton ones. I also have some asda polo tops which are standing up to abuse fairly well and look fine after a LOT of washes.
felly100
Don't go Polo shirt,a nice short sleeved Tattersall shirt would be best. Polo shirt gives the wrong impression in my opinion. Look at any low paid low skilled staff, what are they wearing? Polo shirts!

I tend to wear shirts Mon-Fri if in the office, and then dress down even further Friday is jeans and t-shirt/polo day for us all.

Funnily enough i bought a couple of M and S short sleeved shirts over the weekend, problem is i had to buy XXL to fit in the shoulders, i now look like i am wearing a crisp packet as they appear to be designed to follow that size all over..lol Edited October 12, 2015 by ph5172
blue jimny
My misses bought me polo shirts from debenhams stood up to the washes and my tendency to try and destroy them and still look good
grrclark
Have a look at Charles Tyrwhitt, T.M Lewin or Hawes & Curtis online. All are Jermyn St shirt makers, but all tend to have really good value multi buy deals for causal or formal shirts and all are excellent quality, typically 4 or 5 for £100. You can also opt for different fits so if you have to buy something bigger across the chest/shoulders you don't look like you are wearing a marquee. Fatcatsplat
What you need is something short sleeved with pockets and epaulettes and a clipboard to match! For polos, I'd go to M and S. Or you can go the whole Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie route and pay through the hooter for a little bit of embroidery on the left hand side. They have proved very hard wearing. Also try Cotton Traders they do both short sleeved and Polo shirts ( for the lower paid ) More PW gold.. Dunkield
Quite like gap polo's but they all wash out quite quickly. For smarter stuff but a bit more money have a look at Howies.
