I read that there were some massive counts of pinks this weekend,

85,600 at Montrose

82,750 in the Lothians(?)

94,000 in Lancashire

You missed the 56 that are on the wash , sorry 55 I shot one of them last night :)

With numbers like that up there it looking good for the numbers we get on the next moon .

There must be more than 55 on the Wash. I have seen pinks going over for three weeks now in that direction. The total I have seen will be in the hundreds.

Ok so there might be 57 , a good few of those passing you will be heading over to North Norfolk , Brancaster , Holkham etc.

Hi J. she is doing well thanks, just finished her first season, so I can start doing more with her now. I tried her a cold on partridge for the first time on Sunday in the garden just to see what her reaction would be like. She swept it up and brought it straight back. Still aways to go though.

Yea , but if you had already shot number 50 , 51 , 52 and 53 you should be well satisfied , I tell yer, some people take some pleasing

How is young Tilly doing Paul ? ,

Something like that, well the 'Oh' is correct.

Called them in from a long way and thought they were going to offer either a shot to the left or swing over head, but no, they cupped wings, dropped paddles and set to land on the small flash that I had 6 grey and 4 Canada decoys round. My friend and I sat up, drew a bead and missed royally with 4 shots. To cap it off the lot on the wash behind, I have named this 'Clowns wash', dropped one out as they went over them.

The 3rd time this season that I have missed what should have been simple shots at Canadas.

Oh dear !

No that was number 52 that came out earlier. 54 went out to our right after G. and I sped it on it's way.

Its ok paul I got it for you.nice to see bump into you again.

Looks as though they have had a good year.

And the Humber has broken its previous highest count by some margin (15,000), with a count yesterday of 19,630

Ten days before I am home and can get out for a look

Well as predicted the Geese came through yesterday heading for the wash.

Weather is going to be colder up there so they should start moving down now.

By christmas probably be about 25000 geese out there.

Are you trying to say that no geese were already on the wash?
