Penelope
As much as I can't stand the presenters, I expect to see lots of fowl on this year's Autumn Watch which is set at Caelaverock on the Solway. JDog
There must be more than 55 on the Wash. I have seen pinks going over for three weeks now in that direction. The total I have seen will be in the hundreds.

Penelope
Hi J. she is doing well thanks, just finished her first season, so I can start doing more with her now. I tried her a cold on partridge for the first time on Sunday in the garden just to see what her reaction would be like. She swept it up and brought it straight back. Still aways to go though. Penelope
Something like that, well the 'Oh' is correct. Called them in from a long way and thought they were going to offer either a shot to the left or swing over head, but no, they cupped wings, dropped paddles and set to land on the small flash that I had 6 grey and 4 Canada decoys round. My friend and I sat up, drew a bead and missed royally with 4 shots. To cap it off the lot on the wash behind, I have named this 'Clowns wash', dropped one out as they went over them. The 3rd time this season that I have missed what should have been simple shots at Canadas. Oh dear ! subsonicnat
Well as predicted the Geese came through yesterday heading for the wash. Weather is going to be colder up there so they should start moving down now. By christmas probably be about 25000 geese out there.
