Dicker
Hi All I wonder if anyone knows if any manufacturers make a 12 bore 76mm cartridge containing 7 shot? Cheers Dicker
wymberley
It's getting quite rare to find a 70mm load.
Dicker
Hi Thanks for the reply - I agree, 76mm is getting hard to find. I had some reloaded 76mm's in 7 shot that a friend made for me, but unfortunately he no longer reloads and I cant find 76mm in a 7 shot anywhere! motty
I can't think why such a load would be required.

Guest cookoff013
Swatting what? Where a 32g #6 wouldn't do the job? I think you guys have weird expectation of what ammo should do. 3" would be 50g +. Am I missing something?
Dicker
30g with 7 shot in a 76mm is very effective. Lots of shot in the air!
Farma Geddon
Steel or lead ? Winchester used to make a lead load of 36 gram 7.5s which were excellent
Guest cookoff013
30g with 7 shot in a 76mm is very effective. Lots of shot in the air! Why would 65mm 30g #7 be different from 3" 30g # 7?
Dicker
More lead in the sky
wymberley
Why would 65mm 30g #7 be different from 3" 30g # 7? +1 More lead in the sky ?
sitsinhedges
Some folk must think 30g refers to the amount of powder in the shell

Wasabi
The length of the case has no bearing on the number of pellets. 30 grams is 30 grams regardless of case length.
kennett
It's a bit worrying that people with so little knowledge of how a cartridge works are let loose with a sgc....
wymberley
Thinking about it, perhaps the OP believes you must use a 3" cartridge in a 3" chamber. If you need the pellet count, Eley do 1&1/8oz of 7s in 2&3/4". I think that's right but their web-site is playing up so can't check - might be 67mm but I think not. Either way, problem solved. Arley
I have got some old Eley Magnums 3in no 6 shot. I think they are 46gm? Bought them years ago of a lad who was giving up. He said he used them on the foreshore for high ducks before the lead ban. They are in boxes of 10.
figgy
3" of 7.5 shot. Be nice if the OP said why he wanted this and what weight of shot. Only carts I know of were 36g sporting loads from years ago.

malantone
30g with 7 shot in a 76mm is very effective. Lots of shot in the air! So do you understand that the 30g applies to the weight of shot in the cartridge? if so the size of shot 7 will have similar volume to 6 shot and will fit in a 70mm case. I wouldn`t have thought 2 grains of no7 would be many extra pieces of lead over 28 grains Try member propercartriges if you want any special loads making. Guest cookoff013
I think this topic has run far enough and we had a few laughs at the OPs expense. We are here to help. If you actually want a 50gram #7.5 then they are not that hard to make. Expensive. But not hard.
