Just goes to show how worthwhile it is to carefully test all types of available ammunition in your particular rifle. Just because xxxx shoots well in your mates similar rifle doesn't mean it will shoot well in yours.

For many years I shot Eley HP subs in my semi-auto with excellent results but around 3-4 years ago I found accuracy was dropping off, mainly due to inconsistent velocity so I switch to RWS HP subs. These gave good results but were a fair bit slower than the Eley.

I've now switched back to Eley and they are again performing well - It could well have been just a couple of batches that put me off.

Eley HP subs work well in my Magtech semi auto, but have been unable to buy any local to me for years now, so switched to RWS subs and can't fault the recycling and accuracy at 50 yards, punching a 30 mm group compared to 25 mm with Eleys. The Eleys seem to knock the rabbits down harder, possibly due to a larger hollow point, than the RWS. This makes no real difference on a chest shot up to 60 yards. Winchester subs were a nightmare in comparison, 6 out of 10 failing to recycle, also being noisier than both of the others. With squibs and zingers in my batch of a hundred Winnies, it was impossible to judge the accuracy.
