If you already have FAC, you need to join a target club, as soon as you become a full member you can apply for 303. As long as club is police approved, they will have to let your issuing force know you have joined the club. Depending on club rules could be 3 months or so many visits before becoming full member. Dibs85 Posted July 3, 2017 Author Report Share Posted July 3, 2017 HI Chaps, very delayed update I am now the proud owner of a NO4 MK2 1955 FTR and couldn't be happier. I am now a member of two home office approved clubs and have seriously gotten into competition shooting with it! The issuing officer didn't have a problem with it at all and get this - My ticket was returned approved within a week and a half !!!, must have been a quiet spell Now i'm looking for the next one (maybe a smelly!) can any one recommend any load data for these old girls? I know there is plenty online but hoping someone will be kind enough to pass on some secret recipes ! If anyone was to have any wartime rifle what would be peoples choices? Excuse my ignorance, is that larger caliber semi/fully auto? are they hard/impossible to get hold of as id love a Garand! But if I was to ever get in to historic service rifle shooting I'd have to have a MKiii SMLE and a Mauser K98k; rifles of pure beauty I think. Dave Side note - my dad and I used to have a nice deact collection with both an SMLE and K98 in the mix. Would love to have been able to shoot them! Section 5 is all the prohibited stuff Possible, sort of, but mainly for specialist RFDs not "normal" shooters. WW1 DWM G98 & Pattern 14 Winchester (No.3 "T") WW2 US M1903A4 Remington & Finnish M91'B' & Swedish M43 Husqvarna (M96) After a Finnish M27 or M28 The G98 is a night & day difference to the K98k I used to have. Much nicer recoil though the sights having a minimum 400m setting is a p.i.t.a. Swedish M96 Mausers are really nice too. Very accurate cartridge the 6.5x55 though the bullets are getting difficult to buy at times as the Creedmoor crowd are buying them all !
