Penelope
36g (1 1/4oz) steel, 50g (1 7/8oz) lead in 3" if proved for them.
humperdingle
Not sure tbh but reminds me of a time when I had an old Winchester O/U, which was prone to the odd double discharge... ...just happened to have 2 x 50 gram loads in when it decided to pop both barrels on the first trigger pull. Ouch.
robbiep
I've got some Fiocchi 3 inch cartridges - 50g of No.3 lead shot (old goose cartridge, back when it was legal to use lead for them). Damn, but they sure drop foxes !
neutron619
I guess I'm going to be the boring one then - surely the words "play" and "shotgun" ought not to appear in the same sentence? You might know your chamber size and be able to safely shoot one of those cartridges (52g Fiocchi, if you must) but wouldn't it be better to forgo the revenge in case he manages to react badly to the surprise and blow the head off something he doesn't intend to? TIGHTCHOKE
Good point Neutron I would suggest loading a confetti cartridge that way you can safely catch him out!
casts_by_fly
not sure if the load data exists, but there are 2 oz (56g) loads on the market as turkey loads. they are typically slow (1150 fps) but they are heavy. There used to be a 2 1/8 oz load (60g) turkey load, but I don't know if it still exists. thanks, rick
dougall
go with a black powder cartridge if you want a joke....nice smelly cloud, bitch to clean but wont hurt anyone......
Browning725:)
Thanks for your ideas guys I think confetti is the best idea for safety purpose
Zapp
Just make absolutely sure the bore is clear after anything like a confetti cartridge. You wouldn't want to put a live cartridge on top of a wad lodged half way up the barrel.
Lord Geordie
A single shot should be fine! But load tother barrel with a blank or a dud, if the first shot was to dislodge him and he falls it could end wrong! Personally I wouldnt clown about! A friend done it to me with 46gram home loads and the gun double discharged! I was fine as I am big enough to absorb it! Caught me out a little and bruised my shoulder but so did a 66 gram cart in my semi auto it ejected so violently it tore the brass base on the cartridge! The black powder sounds harmless enough and I would think IF you had to clown about, would be the safer option! But like I say, if using a heavy load just use one! Browning725:)
In which case I may just chuck one magnum in the chamber for him then
activeviii
If you must then load as last cartridge in semi auto or second barrle on a double. No chance of dropping gun and getting a discharge then
