Who has the most interesting calibre rifle.

I saw this yesterday and thought "no - I won't reply and spoil it for him" and decided to wait to see if anyone replied. They haven't, so I'll just point out your signature, which I find amusingly ironic:

:)

Apart from that, surely the answer to your question is "mine", since every rifle owner instinctively thinks his rifle (or rifles) are chambered for the most interesting / flattest / most accurate / "best" calibre(s) available?

I certainly can't win the prize with a boring old .308 Win in the cabinet, but I do have a friend who either owns or is about to own a .610 GNR (I don't know if the barrel has been cut & proofed yet), possibly conditioned for deer! I'd think that's pretty unusual.

I'm looking forward to see if anyone comes up with something I haven't heard of.

I didn't do it for that reason, obviously you don't know me.

I'm actually intrested in what other people have. When i wrote this I had a calibre in mind which I wanted someone to post to say they had it,and it's not a big calibre . Out of the ones posted so far the 17 mac 2 interests me the most.

You don't see many of them! Or the 444.

Got any photos?

I know of 2 other 689 o/u rifles in the UK both in 9.3mm and another three treble 4 shooters .We all use them for shooting Driven Wild Boar. :good: on the Continent .

I am not sure how to post pics on this site .

You seem to have taken offence at something I said. Offence was not intended and no, I don't know you.

You did however ask the question and I answered it with the traditional answer which is that every man's rifle is in his own favourite (and therefore the most interesting / best) calibre, and by mentioning my mate's .610 GNR.

I'm not sure what about any of that ruffled your feathers - assuming that my reading between the lines is accurate.

A friend of mine knows someone with a 50 bmg rifle, shoots at Bisley.

:hmm::hmm: :hmm:

I guess he told you that down the pub, I sort of doubt it, as it exceeds limits, and despite the fact I actually had access to one, Bisley refused point blank to allow its use on site, even for one off filming work and a promise they could have a pop!

It was through a friend so perhaps he was mistaken as I've never been, either that or perhaps bisley thought you looked a bit of a dodgy character and thought nah not today boys

I thought you was implying that I thought I had the best calibre.

Sorry I must have got it wrong,my bad.

Ditto here, but I bet my rifle/chamber combination is the only one in Britain. Anyone else have a TC Encore chambered in 17 AH on this side of the pond?

thanks,

sparkie,

I assume that was a 22 hornet conversion? I have a 22 hornet slot on my ticket open and have always had a light eye out for a cheap CZ hornet action with a plan to consolidate later. I like my Encore, but I'd like to have a bolt gun too.

rick

yes was a 1947 .22 hornet the barrel was a state pritty much shot out and heavily corroded paid £30 for the rifle...got a good deal on the stainless shilen barrel and had steve kershaw put it togther for me.
