Danger-Mouse
in the boardroom, at work...fine. When you're a public official being televised round the world its pathetic. no professionalism or respect. makes our politics look like the shambles it is. I think you need to lighten up. They have a job that often relies on rhetoric and quick thinking. That 3 word comment that brought the house down was a fine example of those skills. It was just perfectly timed rapier wit. The fact that members of his own faction were struggling to keep a straight face shows just how funny it was. If the rest of the world can`t see that or can`t allow for a bit of humour then sod `em. At least our MPs don`t come to blows which is more than I can say of those belonging to some other countries.
brett1985
like that other clip where cameron answers corbyns question by telling him to do his tie up and sing the national anthem?! pathetic. you forgot about the suit.... in all fairness though, he should put on a proper suit, do up his tie and sing the national anthem. 'call me Dave' just said what others were thinking. why should anyone give him the time of day when he doesn't even have enough respect to sing the national anthem - if he feels so strongly on the subject then why not politely refuse to go to an event rather than disrespect those that do by not joining in? the man is a joke, and not the funny kind. It serves no real purpose. The real work goes on behind the scenes. So what if other countries don't like it. It has served us well for hundreds of years. I really do think that you need to go in a darkened room to chill. I am no fan of Dave, but consider the recent alternatives - Gordon Brown, who ruined the economy, or his bosom pal Tony Bliar, the true socialist, stocking up his largess since he left office. Politicians are human, not robots. Give me Boris any day rather than a po-faced do-gooder who turns people off politics.
Bry-M
maybe my comments are being taken wrong, i'm very chilled. i just look at these cretins and wonder how the hell us as a country have ended up with them in charge. I refer to most politicians in general, not any particular party.

PMQ's is unedifying, it is raucous and a bit silly, but that is a tiny element of what happens in our parliament. The vast majority of main chamber debates are very worthwhile, but are all rather showpiece stuff, the real bulk of the work goes on in the committee rooms and lobbies plus the despatches between the various ministers, mp's and civil servants. In parliaments all around the world there are unedifying spectacles, quite often that degenerate into fist fights. The most we have had in recent times is a shaking of the ceremonial mace. grrclark
I bet Eric Joyce came close a few times! At least he did it in the bar I'm trying to remember the few who shook the mace, tarzan did it in the late 70's, hence the nickname. John McDonald picked it up in 2009, but someone else, who I can picture, picked it up to shake it and then dropped it. I shall have to resort to Google. Edit to add: It was Ron Brown, or Ron the Red, who threw the mace on the floor during a poll tax debate. paulnix
Corbyn rather unwittingly gave a great performance as a straight man, left the pause at just the right place for whoever filled in the blanks "who are you", he showed the speed of thought you need in debating. Their behaviour at times might be a bit pathetic, but such a sweeping generalisation is really extraordinary. Incidentally, they don't make your future, you do. I think you lot should look at the BBC web site and here what children think of the House of Commons says it all. Of course kids will say it is stupid behaviour, but they are being asked for an opinion on a tiny snapshot of what really happens precisely because they will give a polarised answer. This is done specifically in order for adults to become indignant and outraged at the apparent dichotomy of how children can be so insightful and our parliamentarians so childish; as so aptly demonstrated. felly100
Likewise. I thought it was pretty funny. But then I saw the gif that has been circulating of the Chancellor smacked off his tits during the exchange, and you've really got to wonder how little regard our elected representatives have for the work of government. Vince Green
If Jeremy had laughed he could have turned that one around, then it would just have been banter and not a humiliation. He would have shown he had a human side and (shock horror) even a personality! poontang
Instead he came over as a scowling grumpy old Commie muttering under his breath Which of course is exactly what he is. I believe the Labour remain campaign are having their first 'day of action' today. Led by Alan Johnson, they'll be leafleting and talking to the public about their totally irrational belief that we should remain in the EU. Jeremy Corbyn will be attending a CND rally. Says all you need to know about the Labour leadership, and party in general.
