Bluebarrels
Again after lots of discussion of late here are the results after I patterned my Hushpower at 25 and 30 yards using Gamebore 3' carts (pellet strike marked in red) same point of aim used 16g,7 shot, plastic Gamebore carts used again the drop off is noticeable BB And before anyone gets too technical/serious this post is a bit of fun Edited February 29, 2016 by Bluebarrels
Shotguneddy
As i mentioned on a post above im thinking of getting one so this isVery helpful cheers mate, is there much of a difference in price between 410 and 12 g guns/ cartridges
Bluebarrels
.410 shells are slightly more expensive than 12g shells, but with the Hushpower been single shot I suppose I save there BB

unico1
Interesting, what diameter circle is that and presumably quite tight choke being a hush power?
Whitebridges
Very interesting Bb. To my amatuer eye 30 yards looks a tad far? What's the choke? Edited February 29, 2016 by Whitebridges
Bluebarrels
Interesting, what diameter circle is that and presumably quite tight choke being a hush power? 18" circle, and I would imagine full choke BB

Bluebarrels
Very interesting Bb. To my amatuer eye 30 yards looks a tad far? What's the choke? I agree,i would keep most shots between 20-25 yards to be honest,i thought I would try out to 30 yards just for interest BB
Bangbangman
Interesting post- thanks. For comparison, this is my Hushpower Mossberg .410 pattern at 25yd with Subsonic Eley 3" 18g no.6 Not a nice pretty target, I just wanted to get an idea of POI v POA with the mod, and pattern. gunnerUKV
Thanks for pics bb , as a newcomer to the 410 myself find this very interesting , my pedretti shot slightly low when tested on paper at 20 yards, wonder also if the cartridge i used would show much difference ( eley 18g 7shot ) at 25 yards to yours . Hope to get out again soon with mine . Atb.

Old farrier
Hi Nigel Do you mean noise difference between the 2 1/2 inch and the 3 inch ? Yes mate just curious if the pattern difference out weighs the noise difference:-)

Bluebarrels
No difference in noise between the 21/2 and 3" carts, not to me anyway mate,BB
bazzashadow
didn`t think you was showing a different cartridge, just thought you was showing the drop off from 25-30yds
motty
There shouln't be a drop off between 25-30 yards.
Bluebarrels
There's 2 posts running mate, one showing the 21/2" cart at 25 and 30 yards and the same again for the 3" cart,BB
bazzashadow
so motty said there should not be a drop off are your pictures showing a drop off?
Guest stevo
the shot is not dropping off , hes sighting down the barrel looking at the bead on the end of the mod , looking at your pattern i would say you need to block your target out , just like i have to on my mossburg pump
Bluebarrels
I blocked the target out and the results speak for themselves,it clearly shows the shot dropping off from 25 to 30 yards,as they say a picture paints a thousand words BB
Westley
Interesting, so these will probably be similar loads to those being used by some, on 40 yard pheasants then ?
Bluebarrels
so motty said there should not be a drop off are your pictures showing a drop off? What do you think? do you think it shows a drop off ? I do, but im not a ballistics expert but I know at 25 yds there seems to be more shot at the top over the 30 yd target so I would say in my limited experience than the shot has dropped off at the further distance of 30 yds,atb BB As I stated in my initial post the same point of aim (centre of cross blocked out) was used for both ranges But I also stated it was a bit of fun,not the ballistics post of the year and posted for interest purposes Edited March 1, 2016 by Bluebarrels
Guest cookoff013
i`m not a ballistic expert either, but 32g #4 subs in the 12 patterns were the best i`ve seen, with any choke. i`ve done a 42g fibre subsonic in the 3" but the pressures were too low to publish really. i`m just going to load a grain extra, and have a blast. why would anyone want 42g subsonic? its for great patterns at "extended" range (and i am not talking about 31yards)
