Not surprised mate, looks a beautiful setup you have on the .17....makes me jealous :)

I was out again last night knocked some rabbits out at just over 280 yds with it with the Archer, the lad that was with me just kept chuckling as he watched them drop as he spotted for me with a Thermal.

Its becoming my favourite at the mo, maybe because its my new one, or maybe because its just nice to shoot.

I took a 22.25 with me too just in case we had a Fox appear. And it did.

This was the first fox that the keepers grandson had shot, he had been having a very bad day at work, lol... he soon cheered up when he shot this Vixen at just over 100 with the 22.250

I didn't see that before I took the photo, you really would not believe how close I was to sitting in it.:sad1: I thought it was a shadow on the phone last night.

Well avoided mate. I shot a fox many years back and I think one of the sheep in the field had some digestive issues as I lay in a big pile of poo and stunk...not nice.

Well done bud. However we need to know details about the fox hugging so spill the beans .

The nutty nuthatch seems a good one for getting their attention. They probably think *** is that

Out around the Partridge pen the other night with Ed. We got this little one, but it's not the one I saw the night before.

And before anyone has a go at my artistic impression, it was the only angle to take it from to get it on here, as there is nothing on the other side

I think my boot is rather fetching though :)

I wasn't going to mention it, but as you have I'd better tell the whole story.

We were by the Partridge pens again, I was up the top, and Ed was at the bottom.

I saw three small cubs come out on the brow of a hill (no shot) another came along and stopped for a scratch not 15yds from me but I couldn't move as I was set up for a different direction, as he went in the right direction he winded me and took off, :unhappy: we called it a miss there and went to a further two farms ,no joy.

Ended up back on one of Eds perms walked a bit and then Ed picked up a fox feeding on something up against a hedge by a house with his spotter, called , but no joy. we decided to see if we could walk it up and and after skirting the field to get a better angle it started moving in the right direction. I had it in the lamp but Ed couldn't see it well enough for a shot over the long grass and thistles. We had 3 or 4 stops but he still couldn't see well enough, anyway this fox got bored of our company and went through the hedge. It was at this time when I thought I should practice my calling. After calling brilliantly for about 2/3 minutes I saw another fox coming from the Farm.

It was obviously asthmatic because it wasn't moving very fast, was using a stick and only had three legs, it was wearing a patch over one eye and was blind in the other. It collapsed with exhaustion not 50yds from us, and I told Ed to put it out of it's misery. He took careful aim, sorted his breathing, squeezed of a round and had perfect follow through, only trouble was , this poor exhausted asthmatic had to get up and take off again, because it was a clean miss. Ed swore there was a funny noise and must have been a duff bullet  All this is a true and honest account of what happened M'lud.
