Penelope
I am currently completing my shotgun renewal application and for the life of me cannot remember the dates (5 in total over 27 years) apart from the latest (2014) for speeding convictions (the usual, just over, camera, 3 points). I have been on the DVLA site and found the latest, which I already knew. As I am sure everyone on here knows, the application asks for ALL previous convictions including speeding offences. Does any know where I can find such info?
daveboy
I think is this case the word "Approx" is your friend. I just put 1984 approx 1989 approx and had no problems. Edited August 8, 2016 by daveboy
Penelope
I can't even remember that! I might be within a couple of years, guessing. I have emailed Essex plod (ders) to see what they suggest. I think is this case the word "Approx" is your friend. I just put 1984 approx 1989 approx and had no problems. crowdie2013
Ive always just noted "no convictions since last application"
robbiep
As stated, 'approximately' is good enough for historic offences. Amusingly, when I declared a speeding conviction from 1994 on my FAC application a few years ago, NWP had no record of it, and neither did DVLA ! If you really want to, you can make a 'subject access request' for yourself (£10 fee, I think) to your local force, which will pull up anything on you in the police database UK-wide. Scully
I just write the approximate year and put a question mark after it. I'm on with my coterminous as we speak, and that's all I've ever done from day one.

Penelope
Thank you gentlemen. I'll wait see if Essex Plod(ders) reply to my email. They have close the phone lines this week due to the backlog of applications. A ridiculous situation.
Geo
I am in Essex and just put down the speeding conviction that still stands from a couple of years ago , didn't think they would be interested in points that have since been remove from my licence from another conviction 10 years ago. When the FEO came round he mentioned the speeding conviction and the fact that someone had recently nicked my wife's car from outside the house, but didn't seem to need any further info. Good luck with your renewal , my grant took ages to come through, contacting the PCC helped . All the best.
