flyeruk
I took the day off work today and ventured out on my second time decoying. I drove round my perm, had a look at a couple of fields, nothing about. Carried on up to another field and watched a few pigeons coming backward and forward over the stubble. I decided to set up,unloaded the car and hiked up a really steep hill with all my gear. Totally out of breath when i got to the stubble. I set up my hide, put out 12 flocked decoys in a rough horseshoe shape, added a crow out to the side, and put the magnet with foam decoys about 10 yards in front of the decoys. Got myself settled in the hide and within 10 minutes, first one came flying in. Missed that one and to be honest, missed the next 3.I had a drink, and waited for the next one, feeling a bit disappointed with myself. The next one came right into the pattern,Got him. This was followed over the next 2 hours by quite a few more, bit slow on quite a few chances but by the end,i had bagged 18. Really happy with the result and i can say,im well and truly hooked. flyeruk
Unfortunately dont have a 4x4.For my sins, im a bit of an Alfa nut,Drive a Alfa Romeo Brera so not any good for off road My darling wife has just suggested getting a cheap 4x4 so will look into it. The field i was on today is at the top of a very steep hill. Most of my other fields are a bit easier to access. Im 58 and an ex smoker so hard work getting up there, worth it though.
