The corvid controller
How do chaps. Im an experienced foxing man but i have two very clever charlies avading my efforts. I usually sit out and call foxes with my 220swift or 223. Im after baiting a certain area but what is the best way to stake a (rabbits) out for charlie? oowee
Big tent peg or bar straight through into ground. Make sure they are well on the way out (shortens the stake out if they whiff).
B725
This has worked for us before,we tied a big old dead smelly chicken onto six foot of string then dragged it around the perimeter of the field ending where we wanted to shoot it,pushed a stick through it and sat back and waited. It was dragged all the way round the field so no matter where the fox came into the field it picked up the smell and followed it
Rim Fire
Just peg it out to where you are able to shoot it safe i got a bait point going all the time when we shoot boar or Deer i drop all the left overs including skin and wait a couple of days then check the camers to find out what time they are coming then go and sit in my shed opposit Edited December 6, 2016 by Rim Fire
Walker570
Don't bait these days but 35 years ago a dead sheep slit open on a piece of clear fell or hillside within range of the Subaru saw the demise of many a fox. Certainly the dragging of the bait is a good idea and personally I would do this behind a vehicle to solve the problem of latent scent of humans being there. Also hang it from a tree branch just out of reach. Amazing how high a fox can jump. A high seat is now my method. Let 'em come to me. oowee
I like the shed Rimfire its better than my garden bench and net. Coffee and a roof and shooting it gets no better.

steve_b_wales
Spraying some 'horse hoof bait' will attract them, if they are anywhere in your area.

shakin stevens
Usually do the above, also use the trail cam in the baited area, might as well turn up on time, especially if you have work commitments.
al4x
Dog food works well spread it and leave half in the tin and it keeps them occupied for ages
steve_b_wales
Got to get mt self some of that Steve ! Atb It's good stuff mate. Easy to make too. Another method I use is to soak some rags in the liquid, and place them in an airtight plastic container. I put the container on the ground and take the lid off. The odour is then released.
