johnbaz
Paypal won't allow guns to be bought using their service and scammers always ask for friends and family payment as there's no cover on it, It's a gift basically, I won't use paypal for guns at all, Too risky unless you know the person selling and can trust them Made mysealf out to be a liar as I just paid for a pre war air rifle with paypal, The seller was a trusted member of another forum with great trading feedback John.. GingerCat
My advice is don't for one second believe what google tells you when it comes to mobile numbers or an email. In my experience (it's extensive) they are wrong far far more than right. Report it to the police as it's fraud (not theft). Action fraud is not part of the police per say. I don't know why it exists but we have what we have. Going to an adress obtained from the net will end in tears for all.
hyflier
Pickerup, I am truly very sorry that you have been ripped off. There is no area of Coventry called St Michaels as far as I can see. There are two A Stanleys in Coventry (If indeed that is his real name) see www.192.com but this isn't something you should be doing. I wholeheartedly agree with Ginger Cat and you may need to be firmer with the Police. Going there yourself really isn't a good idea, I accept you are in a world of hurt and probably very angry but seek advice from the Police at least.......Please? peek-at
Action Fraud is the national fraud agency and all frauds should be reported to them not the police. They will do initial investigative actions ie traces, and should there be anything uncovered to identify the culprit, the case is then passed to police to progress. Having a centralised fraud agency allows for a nationwide intelligence picture to be built as fraudsters rarely operate in just one place. report online - http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ or ring 0300 1232040 I take it you've already tried the mobile & email address........no response? lakeside1000
Waste of time , just put it down to experience and move on, I have been done out of £495 by a company called Litchfield Price, they claimed to be doing PPI claims but took the money from my credit card and didnt do a thing, its been 3 years now, I went to the ombudsman, the government control of finance companies, the police and my credit card company (HSBC) who I have used for the last 30 years, not one of them wanted to help and just fobbed me off with excuses. I finally received a letter last month from the ombudsman saying the company had gone into liquidation and if I put in a claim I may get something back if there is anything left after all the creditors have been paid. I felt like paying the MD a little visit as I had found his address and name but decided not to, he would be laughing all the way to the Bahamas and I would spend Christmas in the slammer. Just not worth it, We live and learn, hopefully not to be caught again.
bruno22rf
You paid someone to claim back PPI for you? - simplest thing in the world to do yourself and soooo much advice/templates online. Last one we claimed back took ,in total, about 3 hours of work - 2 years later we got £7k back.
