A cold start to the day.

Met up with Stuart again for another day out ferreting. It was a cold and icy start to the morning but it stopped us getting too warm.We were just putting the purse nets on the rabbit holes when the farmer who has the field next to the one we were doing came walking across to see us.He said we could ferret all around his field and if we were stuck for somewhere to ferret just to let him know as he has a lot of rabbit warrens on other fields. He was told we would sort it for him and we got on with the job in hand of getting rid of some more rabbits.

The hedge was a bit rough and about six feet wide but we netted all the holes we could and started ferreting. We had a few rabbits bolt but they back netted and we had to dig a few as the rabbits got tucked up under the roots of the bushes. We ended the day on 13 rabbits with lots more warrens to still ferret so plenty of days out to come yet. They were all gutted in the field and were getting dropped off at a game dealers. The ferrets worked well today and will sleep tonight.

what you need on a cold day is a warm DPM waxed jacket to keep the chills off.

those GB gold went down a treat.

looks like a cracking day out Ian-well done.

You cannot beat a thick warm wax jacket for forcing your way through thorn bushes.

Hope you shot a few with the cartridges. ;)
