I fancy something vintage to mess around with and maybe a fergie is the thing to go for for cheapness.

I fancy one that need a bit of tinkering and maybe a bit of paint but not sure what price I should be paying. You see some rough ones advertised the same price as mint ones !!

I've seen runners for £800 and non runners for £1500 ! What's that all about ?

My mate sold 3 some weeks ago, yhey were all runners,so would expect them to be sold around £1000.

Non runners can have a lot of engine faults, doen't take a lot for an idiot to scrap one..

What problem do they have ? They look a pretty basic engine i.e.points, condenser and plugs

My father paid 1100 for a tea20 (straight petrol model) in good working order, original tinwork but no log book.

I've got the tef20 diesel and that would definitely be my preference over the petrol. The diesels tend to command a bit more money.

I'd buy one with no logbook that's not a problem, it's not really a money making thing. I'm probably dreaming but I'd like to be paying around the £800 mark 🙈

I would go for one with a logbook, no reason why not and once it's done up you will want to go on the road.

Stick it out, £800 is very sensible for a runner that just needs tarting up a bit. Anything over £1100 should be in good order and perfectly usable as is.

Yeah I never rush into it, I don't like giving people what they want !

i have restored many old tractors over the years.the price has risen greatly over the last few years,i have sold unrestored petrol/tvo greys for over 2k.a rough 135 will set you back between 3 and 4k,a few years ago you could pick up a nuffield for little money but now even they are heading into the 2k mark.an ex farm major will be 2 to 3k,amd be warned that tyres for most of these old tractors are now obsolete sizes and will come at a premium.and not good quality but cheaply made imports.saying that they are very satisfying to restore them.

Prices seem all over the place of fergys at the moment. If you are near by and not in a rush head down to cheffins vintage auctions in April in Ely they have some real bargains go through...they also have some stuff make silly money.

Parts are plentiful from various suppliers. If you only want something for fun and not going to work it hard save your money and buy a petrol or tvo rather than a diesel.
