fat_jay
.......Anyone have any experience of theses kits....what's good what's bad? Need to do the headlights on the CRV for the M.O.T, if anyone has used and can recommend a kit I would be very grateful. Regards Jay

Hendrix's rifle
Thanks but which kits did you use?? Honestly can't remember will try and dig the box out after. G3 and a machine will also do the same job just don't hold it in the same place too long as it can burn them
Surfer
Don't laugh but try toothpaste and damp cloth on the glass/plastic then polish off @fat_jay

eastdevon
Don't laugh but try toothpaste and damp cloth on the glass/plastic then polish off @fat_jayA coarse toothpaste is the better option, have used this many times. Apply a good amount all over the headlight lense then apply a small amount of water to a medium speed rotary buffing mop, work all over at a reasonable rate but don't hold in one spot or go too slow or press to hard as this will cause the lense to warm up and misshape. Mr. Merkel
Mothers Power Plastic headlight lens restorer is what I have just used it cost £9.99 per 8 oz bottle, Mothers also sell a kit which was £28.00 it included the same size bottle that cost 9.99 and two M3 polishing pads, I just used the liquid polisher with an electric drill and some wool polishing discs. My MOT is Fri and the polisher works very well.
ph5172
I used some T-Cut and it did a good enough job, problem is it needs doing every 6-12 months or so. People have said spraying it afterwards with one of those once a day suntan oil things and buffing can stop some of the UV degredation after polishing Edited June 14, 2017 by ph5172

Fuj
Wet and dry paper 1500 grit Followed by 2000 grit and then 3000 all wet And then G6/ G3 with a buffing machine works a treat guaranteed like new. Take it to a local bodyshop I'm sure someone will help you out. Av. Cost £20-£30 Edited June 18, 2017 by Fuj
hodge911
just used the quixx kit last night https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsJkxXdOiks and very pleased with the results i.m.o the headlights were pretty bad and were really rough to the touch and looking at them from the front of the car you could hardly see the bulbs . now they look like new
Lord O War
That's the one I used as well, very good but I may need to do it again because I did it in the ally at night and in daylight I can see some marks that I didn't remove. Very easy to do and I have bought some more wet and dry to redo it. I think the kit comes with 2000,3000 and 5000 wet and dry I've bought more of this but with some 1500 to try and get rid of the tide mark half way up the lamps, the mark has almost gone but you can just see it still. It probably has more to do with me than the kit.
