viking
well the new DT10 might have to go, saw an old mate at clay shooting today, had a new gun that looked very nice, had a little go with it that turned into a swap for the evening, what a beautiful gun to use, it was a joy and shot for me as well as anything iv ever owned including my old Dt10, and thats saying something http://stephenandson-gunmakers.co.uk/project/caesar-guerini-12g-summit-black-ascent-sporting-32-barrels/ i know i spelt "these" wrong in the main topic Edited June 13, 2017 by viking
philpotttt
I have had a few shots with one of these and the Apex, very nice indeed but not in the same class as my DT10 but there again we all like different things. Phil
fortune
Oh my lord. it could cause a divorce if my other guns caught me looking at this. >> http://stephenandson-gunmakers.co.uk/project/chapuis-c35-28bore/
Westward
Many people have experienced the exact same thing, including me. It's hard to define what it is that makes CGs so nice to shoot but I reckon it's because everything else in the price range seems clunky in comparison. figgy
I've tried plenty of my mates and there ok but not as good as a DT10.
Westward
Everyone loves the DT10, including many DT11 owners... The CG magic isn't there for everyone and that's as it should be.
Mr.C
Love my Impact however the bores take time to clean if you like them spotless.
buze
Love my Impact however the bores take time to clean if you like them spotless. I love my Invictus 5 as well, it's a fantastic gun, and it looks like a million bucks. I have a bit of wear on the finish of the forend tho, I've contacted CG about it. I *finally* found how to clean the barrels easily: Keep 2 brushes, one for the barrels, one (new one) for JUST the chambers. The problem is that brushes will 'crump' when used in barrels, and eventually they barelly touch the chamber's wall, which makes cleaning difficult. Now I keep 2 separate brushes, and it cleans very easily!
discobob
Try the Impact model - Sweeeeeeeeeeettttttttt Love mine but I also want to get my hands on an Invictus
figgy
Use a spiral Turks head/tornado brush in the bores to clean the worst out.
ips
CG don't do it for me, nothing compares to a DT10, I have had four DTs two std ones were brilliant the X trap was rubbish BUT the current DT10eell is in a league of its own.
Westward
I find the CG barrels much easier to clean than the Beretta Optimas I had before. All it takes is a soak for 15 minutes with Clenzoil then normal cleaning with a brush then a few patches.
Guest stevo
I know a certain PW member who is a CG owner ( a very nice one I might add ) but over the past 4 weeks of owning my new DT11 Trap ( 30" fixed choke ) just can't help himself when we're waiting to shoot trap. To pick my gun up and have a quick play. The smile on his face says it all haha I would let him shoot it but I think it would finish him off 😂 You know who you are 😜
figgy
I think the Caesar Guerinis were good value when they first came out but prices have crept up to the point where would you pay 4K for a invictus accent or buy a DT or Blaser. When you start comparing them to the various Miroku and Brownings they look expensive. Wouldn't do for us all to like the same .
Crumpler1991
I just purchased ata guerini love it think best value gun out there for under 2k but did like pro trap looked at other day
buze
Personally the berretas don't fit me at all. I'm always way too low on them. Brownings are OK, but if you compare a 4K browning with a 4K guerini, I know the one I'm going home with... Same with the Blaser. the F16 is the only gun anywhere near 4K, and it looks like a plank in comparison. So for me the guerinis STILL give quite a lot of gun for the money
Westward
So for me the guerinis STILL give quite a lot of gun for the money I agree but the problem is that many people still regard them as tarted up budget guns simply because they use a variant of the "Rizzini" action design used by almost all budget O/Us from Italy, Spain or Turkey. My view is that there's nothing intrinsically wrong with that design; it just needs to be built to higher standard of machining and materials, which is exactly what CG has done. Producing good looking, well specified guns to a high standard of fit & finish together with nice handling, good shooting performance and superb triggers, all at a reasonable price, is a killer combination. It strikes me that CG, by employing modern business thinking, have breathed new life into a smug, complacent, old fashioned, archaic and unimaginative industry that has been ripping off shotgun buyers for a generation or more. Very well put ... it's clear they have a fantastic marketing department (look at the Syren range), and are able to deliver the quality to meet expectations also. buze
To be fair too, the Syren is not just marketing. My wife is 5.1 or something (well, she's really short) and she can shoot not just 12 bore, but she can shoot game load with it -- not just the 21g compx; it's really, really well made to suck up recoil.
