scotslad
Must admit I've never been overly keen on grouse, can be quite strong tasting. I think it must depend how u cook them Most/all keepers sort out the young and old birds at the end of each day both for there records and for selling as u get a different price for young and old birds I'm picking up on sat and I just heard yest the counts are the highest he's ever seen on the moor so could be in for a busy 1st day and a few after it. I'd imagine most moors should be looking forward to a decent season as it was a fairly mild winter and a decent spring over most of the uplands, althou it only takes a regional late drop of snow at the wrong time to knacker up a productive looking season for a moor or 2 Can see a few records being broken this year on a few moors Edited August 9, 2017 by scotslad

welshwarrior
Old birds hung taste like old heather roots with peat still on. Young birds done fresh are lovely.
