Ten Tors - boots

We took my son to Cotswold Outdoors in Broadmead who did a good job fitting him with some Hi-Tec boots. They were the least expensive in the shop at the time (on the basis that C.O. don't see rubbish) and we signed up to their loyalty card when we bought them. This provided a 2-year guarantee and the purchase was logged online.

After doing the practice hikes and the 35 mile event itself, and having worn the boots for a 15-mile DofE Bronze expedition, the sole came away from one of the boots. Cotswold were good as gold - I took the boots in & they refunded the cost straightaway. He's not bought any replacement boots yet which would be suitable for such a long hike.

Hello mate, yes did it 4 times as a scout and venture scout. 35,35,45+55 mile.

It's a fantastic event and long may it continue....

Continued with training the youngsters and still live near dartmoor.

Advice; Re boots dont buy cheap and wear gaiters.

If they do the training, they will breeze it?(train hard fight easy..)

pm me for more info, cheers mm.

If you find a pair of Altbergs that fit have a look on eBay there was another thread running on these, you won't get any guarantee but you'll only pay £30-40.

I haven't done the walk your looking at but we did Snowdonia and the lake district, good boots your used to and the same for your rucksack, happy days ??
