Phil9
ago Hiya guys been out tonight doing abit of ratting!! Zeroed in yesterday after I got home from work,my NV is the archer that fits directly onto the back of any scope,,so no need to adjust my zero!! Well tonight I couldn't hit a rat for toffee?,,and can understand why all my shots were taken around 15 to 35 yards but I didn't hit a single rat and believe me after 24 shots I'd had enough! Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated ??
B&W FOX
Check the scope zero at 20 yards on paper. For a rat you only need to be one inch high for a miss, if your low you will lift them off the ground at that range
Ultrastu
What gun were u using and cal .? If the nv isnt lined up properly with the scope .you can get terrible parralax error. Meaning a miss

Dougy
As already said check zero with the ARCHER on at 10 yards and 20 yards.
Paul223
As already mentioned, zero incorrect or parallax. Parallax could be caused by either the mate up between archer and scope or, possibly, from not having the support of the stick for your cheek. The archer is a brilliant bit of kit! Phil9
My zero is spot on,, how do I sort the parallax tho???
Paul223
First try zeroing and grouping with the archer attached. a small dab of tipex on some brown cardboard should show up well in the archer. If attaching the archer moves the zero then there is either parallax between archer and scope (loosen bayonet and try to manoeuvre and retighten) or the action is loose in the stock. if zero is correct but the grouping inconsistent then you need a stock comb extension to give your head proper support when looking through the archer. Hope this helps!
Dougy
Never bothered about correct head alignments with my set up using an ARCHER. I just put the x on Charlie and he drops. There are times I don't even have the butt touching my shoulder. And they are not sitting on the end of the barrel either. I reckon there are other problems. Well zeroing and grouping will show the issue up, if there is one. I went through a period with mine attached to another scope and it was not reliable. al4x
If zero is fine using the archer on paper at the range you are shooting then it’s down to you. If you are zeroing with it off then try again. Personally after 5 misses i’d Have found a target to shoot at to see what was going on
Rim Fire
This may sound daft but you are using a side or front parallax scope which you need for best results using an Archer
Phil9
My scope is the hawke sidewinder 30 with the side parallax mate
