PPP
Hi Im looking for an air rifle that my sons can use but have hunting suitable power. Light weight will be a big consideration as we can cover some distance to get in air rifle distance of rabbits Thanks
oldypigeonpopper
hello, first your budget, next is a PCP or SPRING rifle, calibre, 177 or 22. open sights or scoped? i presume a sub 12 ft llb, so your looking at a 35/40 yard max distance, ??????, a PCP would need a charging air source, pump or bottle/tank
GingerCat
Hw99s in .22 or an aa200 pcp in whatever calibre you like. both light, accurate and relatively cheap. I say .22 for the 99s as the .177 is a bit sharper on the recoil (my experience anyway). Edited May 13, 2018 by GingerCat Typo

bruno22rf
No contest - the AA S200 will shoot Rabbits at any range your son could ever wish to be accurate over. Go for the older 2 piece stock version as they seem cheaper and get a multi if you can - sooooo under rated that it hurts.
Ultrastu
If it for youths like u said weight will be a consideration . The lightest of the above is the p15 and shortest too. Followed by the s200 then bsa. Price for all is similar Defiantly. 177 for rabbits. And a pcp too cos a full power springer thats accurate enough will be too heavy. Walker570
I have an S200 and at my age the lighter the better. I find it easy to carry and looking to fit sling swivels so I can shoulder it. I have th earlier model with the squared off front stock section which I find excellent as it sits on the shooting shelf in my blinds ready to go. Also it does the job in spades. villaman
HW99 .22 spring or BSA ultra PCP both great guns . IMO all spring guns are better in .22 even after .177 have been tuned

GingerCat
The 99 is much better in .22, and I'm a .177 fan.
