theboycalledleaf
I often see people selling firearms quoting face to face collection or collection via an RFD. Can anyone explain to me how the RFD bit works please, and is there a set price? Thanks Edited June 21, 2018 by theboycalledleaf Shocking spelling
Harnser
Generally if you buy a gun from some body who lives to far away to make the journey worth while you buy the gun sight unseen .you pay for the gun and the seller sends the gun via a RFD his end to a RFD your end . When you pick the gun up your end the RFD enters it on your ticket .no there is no fixed price and it can be quite expensive. My advice is don’t buy a gun sight unseen ,unless you know the seller . harnser
bruno22rf
Think that the gun has to be entered onto your ticket by the selling RFD now?

Lloyd90
Don’t find it a good idea to buy a gun you’ve not looked over thoroughly in person.
theboycalledleaf
Thanks all. I don't think i'll use the process for buying or selling now. Much appreciated for the education.
Muddy Funker
When did this change take place? I only recently bought a Beretta 302 via rfd. Cost me £20 my end and paperwork was completed my end.

It hasn't changed, just not many took notice of the rules or at least bent them
the enigma
I've done it a couple of times, but from well known forum members. I think technically speaking the person selling the gun transfers or "sells" it to their dealer so that it's on his books. He then transfers it to the receiving RFD who then "sells" it to the buyer. That why you don't have to send your cert.
