Selling via RFD

Generally if you buy a gun from some body who lives to far away to make the journey worth while you buy the gun sight unseen .you pay for the gun and the seller sends the gun via a RFD his end to a RFD your end . When you pick the gun up your end the RFD enters it on your ticket .no there is no fixed price and it can be quite expensive. My advice is don’t buy a gun sight unseen ,unless you know the seller .

When did this change take place?

I only recently bought a Beretta 302 via rfd. Cost me £20 my end and paperwork was completed my end.

It hasn't changed, just not many took notice of the rules or at least bent them

I've done it a couple of times, but from well known forum members.

I think technically speaking the person selling the gun transfers or "sells"  it to their dealer so that it's on his books. He then transfers it to the receiving RFD who then "sells" it to the buyer. That why you don't have to send your cert.
