Walker570
Looking for a material I can apply which will set with a smooth finish...eg like porcelain and will be waterproof. Must also be adhesive. Any ideas Preferably white but does not have to be, could be black or brown or green even.
Konnie
For any particular use, or trying to achieve a particular finish.
Walker570
I need to line a small bowl area and hope I can find a material which finishes smooth and waterproof. When I say waterproof that is only for cleaning not soaking.
spandit
You can buy flow epoxy - would that do?
Walker570
I need to line the inside of a bowl so it needs to stay put and not go with the force of gravity if you know what I mean. Thinking of using a resin based putty of some kind and then coating with brush on resin in thin coats, even use the bronze filler used in those statues. I can invert the piece so the 'paint' doesn't run into the bottom of the dish. Flow epoxy will have to look that one up, thanks.
spandit
May have made up the term but it's this sort of stuff: https://www.smooth-on.com/product-line/xtc-3d/
Walker570
That looks good stuff. I was just thinking, I could use rifle stock bedding compound for the base, easily moulded by hand and then coat it with that 'epoxy' finish. Thanks

Walker570
I have used the Milliput as the base and may put a layer of something on top to seal it. I'll have a look at that SUGRU, thanks.
Saltings
if a small amount araldite epoxy tubes if large amount Axminister epoxy 1l and hardener slow or fast hardener for either process if a clay pot you want to seal you can soak in a pva solution for a few days then let it cure same as quarry tiles for a wet room then let it dry for a few days and your good to go Edited October 13, 2018 by Saltings
