sabel25
Hi Dave I've puchased 9 CG,s in the past One for a friend one for a nephew and sold others to upgrade I own 4 A magnus an Essex ltd edition and 2 Maxum's in 12 and 20 Have,nt tried an eclipse Evo round body yet But i love these CG's Their well made, and well finnished off , hand finnished and alot of gun for your buck with some nice walnut woodwork that puts more expensive guns to shame 10 year warranty that's transferrable and the best after sales service in the business The business was set up by two nephews of the renowned Batista Rizinni who worked for their uncle and set up in the back of his factory developing thier guns Then set up on their own in 2000 They went on to now own the Fabarm brand I can sincerely recommend them Good luck
figgy
Dave I've been looking at them myself, the new engraving is nice nudge nudge wink wink. The internals are same as most other models so are barrels on most of the models maxis choked external on spotters internal on game. Found one on Guntrader having teague chokes whether this was done at request or after buying not sure. Other difference I can find is the action shape and stock shape through the hand looks very long and snake like and where it's headed to the action it has the curve There is a RF1 sporting version made for Richard Faulds when he joined C&G but now he looks like he is using the Invictus five. The Ellipse Evo curve seem to be a little over priced compared to other models in the line up, around same as a Invictus grade 5. Sussex gardener
@Silverpigeon69 has the ellipse in a 12g game, and he shoots very well with it. Very pretty gun and well made, the "game scene" always attracts attention!
Westward
It's really a matter of personal taste as the Ellipse, like most of the more expensive CGs, sells on it's looks. Mechanically it's the same as every other model in the original range, although I've been told by an owner that the receiver is fractionally wider. I'm more than happy with my Challenger but if I do get the urge to change it'll probably be to an Invictus.

figgy
Tell him to try the Invictus if he shoots the 692 well. I think the 30" barrel version of the Invictus is very nice to shoot.
buze
I use the 30" Invictus V as my main clay gun, and have been using perhaps 1k shells per month for the last 30 months or so, and the gun is still nice, tight, and had had zero problem. Would definitely recommend. I've also been shooting it on game, with internal chokes it just looks like a pretty game gun and is excellent even with heavy loads. Also, I've seen @Silverpigeon69 's gun a few times, it's fantastic looking and he's pretty mighty with it..
TK421
Must admit I’m seeing more and more mentions of this manufacturer, and they do look amazing value and quality, I guess only time will tell on now they will last, but judging by the fat they have a 10 year warranty is say they are going to hold up well. The woodwork and scrolling looks outstanding

Jason_ox
Agreed the Maxum deluxe is a lovely looking gun. I have been looking at these and the B.rizzini RB regal deluxe. Not sure I can see the difference between these and paying a lot more for a new EELL!
sabel25
Maybe that Kelbrook are sponsored by a certain make of gun Probably Beretta I have the same maxum but with pow stock and schabel forend and half the money of an EELL and better wood How much would a Beretta to this spec above cost and what number would Beretta apply to it, as they have more numbers than a phone directory and more letters than the alphabet Maybe that's why they double up on letters Beretta had a good name 20/ 30 years back but qouting Beretta shooters Their modern guns are not as good as the older models and they are over pricing on past performance Caesar Guerini are proving this point making attractive guns that are proving themselves When i'am out on shoots everyone picks my Maxum up to look over and inspect No other gun attracts this interest incl browning Miroku beretta so much so some of my shooting mates are looking for a Maxum and have asked me to source one for them Need i say more
sabel25
Hi Dave Had a look at these F16 blaser and looked at reviews What an expensive boring pile of **** they seem to be It's like BMW putting thier rotary badge on a Larder They look ****** awfull and it's going to reflect on the Blaser reputation Not that i'am an admirer of German guns Just do not float my boat I think Blaser has made a massive mistake which will turn around and bite them on the **** plus it will be interesting as to who is actually making them? figgy
Some Guerinis are decent enough value. Have a look at some of the others over 10k for a new makers gun. I think they’re starting to outprice themselves on some models.
Old Boggy
Just to add my penny worth. If I had the money I would go out tomorrow and buy a 20g Maxum. Most seem to be with 32 inch barrels but being vertically challenged, I would have 30 inch barrels to avoid a trip hazard !! Lovely looking guns and I had the pleasure of trying a 20g Maxum recently and it looked great and handled beautifully and I shot well with it (or as well as I'm ever likely to). I would personally go for a rounded POW type stock. The solid top rib makes for easier and better cleaning and the sideplates set the gun off a treat. What's not to like. As for longevity, I think that Buze's post above is testament to that. I did have a 20g Ellipse Ltd (the cheaper version of the Evo) which had what was described as a colour hardened finish with a CG trademark alongside. Couldn't fault the gun for performance etc, however, I inadvertently left some blood on the action and when I cleaned it off, the colour finish came off. Turned out it was a sort of lacquer finish. I'm not sure whether they still make this model. Like others have said, other manufacturers seem to be pricing themselves out of the market. TK421
Also worth mentioning, and what I’m seeing time and time again is the after sales support, which is apparently the best there is out there, which to me is as important as the gun itself as inevitably something will go wrong, it’s how it’s dealt with, fixed and the support received. I draw parallels to the motor industry, some of the best cars (manufacturers) have the worst customer service, as they ride on the back of a ‘were the best’ attitude. That will work for the short term until something/someone better comes along. Anyway a bit more gun porn.. I’ve just downloaded the latest literature on the range, also a very well written and produced brochure, with some great technology as well. I’m getting worried guys, these guns are starting to grow on me, the more I read the more it makes sense, it really does.
