BenBhoy
Afternoon, Just wondering if anyone uses or has seen goldies working? I guess it's the coat that puts people off. We've decided to get a pup, will be a pet but I'd like to at least try getting her out in the hide with me. Cheers.
Old farrier
Chap on here lee kingsman works a few no reason not too have a golden retriever although you should do a bit of research into a working line all the best of
Lloyd90
Think there are some working lines up Scotland and the odd one scattered about. Imagine they will have waiting lists so speak to breeders now and get your name down. Dont go for non working lines just because they’re easier to find. Theyre supposedly slower to mature than labs but if you take your time you’ll have great hide dog 👍🏻

He might be my best friend - actually, he is - but I wouldn't dream of trying to train him for the field. Guaranteed disaster waiting to happen. They really are great companions but unless from a working line (quite rare I believe) they are best as pets only.
Dave at kelton
If from working lines they can be very good. A couple of guys I pick up with work them and they do a good job. A minor breed these days but great to see good ones out in the field.

Big Mat
For me personally, there is no more dog more elegant to watch work, than a goldie. We're thinking about one in a few years time. Anyone who's shot shep whites on the wash, will have bumped into the marsh warden with his goldies
B725
I had one year's ago but sadly had to be put to sleep at 2 and half years old he was the gentlest dog I've ever known.
