Eagleman
Also posted on airgun section. Even if you don't use an airgun I would urge members to sign up to this. There are enough laws regulating Firearms as it is. http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/NoNewAirgunLaw/
Dunkield
Eagleman, I have moved this from the Welcome section to here, so hopefully it will get more views.

countryman
just signed - very good idea to petition. If all the shooting community get together we could become a formidable force.

kip270
Did you put your address in there??? Not being funny but they don't know who owns air-rifle's/pistol's at the moment, but how do we know they are not going to use the address thing to check up if they do pass a new law!!!! Cranfield
As usual, another badly worded petition. Why doesn't it say, "we the undersigned petition the Prime Minister, not to permit the banning of air weapons"., rather than use the expression, "unnecessary and unfair legislation". The PM could ban air weapons and say that he agreed with your petition and he didn't think that decision was, "unnecessary and unfair legislation". Sorry to appear negative, but the wording of most of these E-Petitions is pathetic.

pin
As usual, another badly worded petition. I've signed it, against my better judgement. I agree with you Cranfield, if you look there have been 8 such petitions of a similar nature recently. I am not convinced this will make any difference. The only one which did grab the headlines and the PM's attention was the "road pricing" one, which by the way they have now completely ignored and are doing it anyway
badgerman
i've got to admit i have very little faith in these petitions. as pin said the only one that anyone noticed was the road pricing, huge media attention and public participation which ended with....an absolute blank. completely ignored. i dont mean for this to be taken as 'oh well lets not do anything at all then' - its just a shame that the forum is there, and in truth is quite powerless as the government is already aware there is a great many people who will be against any further legislation, so being able to put names to numbers doesnt necessarily mean a great deal. BM (and yes i did sign it)
Bagsy
Signed - but as others have said these are merely to sense public opinion on matters and the government will ignore it anyway. I would like to see Jeremy Clarkson as PM though (and he has over 13,000 voters) - now there's a thought!

lurcherboy
I signed it but would like to add that no-one should be able to buy a air rifle/gun by post and I am happy to have one on a ticket if the powers to be deem it. LB

Conygree
Signed, air rifles are not only usefull but are a good introduction for people new to shooting - to ban them is a bit late as there are thousands in existance.
