Old Boggy
Considering that this thread is almost a year old, it still retains our utmost interest as though it was started yesterday. I just love these Ditchman 'take it apart and put it back together' threads, with a bit of remaking and polishing in between. The man's a mechanical genius with his fully descriptive text andย minute by minute account of theย work ............................. when he's not on the sauceย

ditchman
finally got the springs to the right thickness...they have to be thinner than the blade and tools so the whole spring is allowed to move freely whilst the tools are held snug... started to round one end of the riverts off and check for fit put the springs in the vice and flexed them about 3mm and they seem fine ...you can feel the spring in them ...was a bit worried on one of them as to gettin g the right temp on the hardening cycle...but for so small amount of flex they are or ....seem to be ok...... need to make one more rivert will do that tomorrow and then start to assemble it...
