So there’s a fire in the hearth and smoke coming out the chimney, like they say, there’s many a fine tune played on an old fiddle, so what do you put this down to, the Norfolk air, the water, or are you on potion made by the local witch doctor? :)

Its all down to how many rounds you can go in the ring! If you know what I mean.  ;)

The answer here may lie in how it has been treated (as in what cleaning/preservation/waterproofing has been used) over the years.  I have heard some traditional treatments do rot stitching, particularly Neats Foot Oil.

Thanks for that John, it will explain why my stitching is rotting after regularly using Neatsfoot oil.  Grandfather was wrong on that one!

If you 'google' neatsfoot and rotting it brings up some more background.

I applied to go on.

I have a pocket watch that belonged to my great grandad, it was presented to him by the people of the village (town now) he came from for his service in WW1.

He was presented with the Military Medal.

It is engraved as such but it has stopped working and the hinges on the case could do with repairing.

It will be 100 years on July 19th this year that it was given to him.

You have to send photos and a bit of a back story as to why you think you should be selected.

I never heard anything back 😕

hello, if they do a step by step guide to fix up the items shown or a good percentage of them it will be worth buying, or maybe just a BBC make over book.

This is all I know, but it does look like it is a restoration guide rather than a series book;
