Miroku_Dave
Hi all, these are my latest knife builds, they’re both 8670 steel heat treated in my tiny forge and tempered on the wife’s oven. They have Raffir Alumiwave handles from Ground Flat Stock. Basically it’s layered aluminium mesh sealed in epoxy, it’s quite expensive but looks amazing close up. They have a massive mosaic pin each and a brass lanyard tube. These have my new Makers Mark on them as well now I’ve learned how to etch! They're quite small but these smaller knives are proving a lot more popular with my customers. Hope you like them.....

I think I’ll stick with natural materials next time. Thats a lanyard I bought online with the 9mm cap. They get a bit funny if we bring them home from work 😉

Il stick with the 9 quid opinel if i lose it, it wouldnt hurt the bank as much

fatchap
Very nice work I get asked for "Kyronite" handles all the time now, its cheaper to make them yourself then you can go wild with the designs. After the initial outlay pressure pot resin and dyes, depending on how many orders you have it won't take long to get your sheckles back. Pressure pots are pretty expensive but you can convert a paint spraying pot to serve the purpose, tutorials a plenty on you tube. That's what I will be doing when my new workshop is finally done,(Its a concrete base at the moment and has been for months). Where did you get the etching templates made? been trawling the tinterweb to get some made the mosaic pin that I use as my mark has rocketed in price and would like to etch the blade with the same design.
