As you mention , there is plenty of stupidity and ignorance , that is a reflection of the world we live in, just because anothers world view differs though, does not make them particularly stupid, some were born in different times and different places, and pointing out that their view is no longer 'popular' will not sway them from that view.

Especially when you say their view is born of ignorance.

I absolutely appreciate that people are a product of their time and folk can have polarised conservative/liberal views on a number of things, there is nothing wrong with that. Nor should we shy away from having reasoned discussion about it.

However, when people are wilfully ignorant that is a problem and as regrettable as it may be there is an element of that on PW.  Unfortunately there is also a level of predictable repeatability in who suggests problems may be due to those from an ethnic minority across many threads, even skewing a thread just so as to be able to put that message across.

Is HenryD calling out what he sees as racism any different to you and/or others calling him out for being 'liberal' or a "snowflake"?

Well that depends really on why we/they would be calling him a liberal or a snowflake surely ?
Its usually because he attacks like a rabid dog from his 'moral' high ground when someone mentions problems with a minority.

If someone says anything about organised Pakistani grooming gangs, and how they are (were) allowed to operate with impunity for so long, he brings up saville ! Or insinuates the poster is racist because white gangs exist too 
Its not the point, its deflection , its not necessarily racist to point out a certain race are/may be responsible for some crime or other.
Or , discuss why some races/ groups are more prone to certain crimes.
Travellers were discussed in another thread the other day, but henry has lived 2 miles away from a camp for 30 years with no issue , so we are obviously all hate filled racists.
Its a repeating pattern.

If you cant discuss race and social cohesion in this country, and by that I dont mean hate talk, but a rational discussion about a very real matter, because you might 'offend' someone.
Then we really are in trouble.

Of course not, but ethnicity appears to have a link to certain types of criminality....if statistical data shows this to be the case?
