Of course a fair amount of tax flows in from those., so no big rush to ban them. Plus of course the fumes from these 'fags' can also kill innocent people as well. Passive vaping? The jury is still out on the effects of vaping. I can't say I've heard any suggestions that secondary vaping could be harmful.

But that is up to them, social distancing pubs and alcohol do not go together. I went last night. Crowded ? No. Rigid social distancing ? Yes. Atmosphere ? None. Enjoyable night out ? No. Going to be repeated anytime soon, definitely not. 6 staff wearing masks and visors, with maybe 10 punters, a one way system that made a toilet visit (5 yards from my table) into a 50 yard walk past every other occupied table in the pub, outside , then back in. On entrance ,I was stopped in the doorway, not asked for details ? But then an order to SANITIZE ! barked at me, then checked I had a booking, the place was virtually empty, and I saw many people turned away because they hadnt booked. Constant shouting at punters from behind the bar, to those who forgot the one way system , or who didnt change the occupied sign on the one in one out toilet. The first time I walked straight back to my table and sat down, I was immediately surrounded by 3 staff who had a conflab about whether I should walk all the round the pub again ! I think my withering look told them I wouldnt be doing that. One lad started going through the toilet door because someone hadnt changed the sign to 'green' , a staff member RAN across the pub to stop him, shouting NOOOO ! It was funny and novel at first , then became very tedious. I asked a few people if all the pubs are like this, and many said this was a bad example. But Ill not bother again until things are more normal .

But I looked the other night, there were a few people scattered around at tables, and I thought no thanks, normally working away you'd go in get a beer look round strike up a conversation, but going in to sit at a table?? Didn't bother.

The owners wife is diabetic and was telling us she isn’t allowed back until August sometime, and then went through the procedures with the staff. Anyhow, a few starters came out, followed by some mains, and before long there was five people all eating from the same dishes, the diabetic wife included! 😳 You couldn’t make it up really. 😀
