1066
I've been repairing this little tool today - anyone hazard a guess what it's for? (Shooting related) Finished job. The little ear was broken off. Turned down a bit of silver steel Milled the new ears (3mm slot, 3mm deep) Then hardened, tempered and oil blacked. enfieldspares
Without a size to compare it to I can only guess it is to do with truing, or squaring, the front face of a Mauser receiver.

enfieldspares
I had a No 4(T) with the Mk III 'scope when in its wooden box and with its American sling the whole lot was £240. My. How prices have changed.

A pity they never stopped modifying the scope caps - the 2nd pattern are the best; the 3rd are a right dogs dinner to make and don't do the job any better than the previous design.
