VULTURE
Hi. Has any got a M25 x 1mm tap that I could borrow, I need to clean up a couple of threads in the top of a pair of motorcycle fork legs. I’m in Norwich and could bring the forks if not too far to travel. Many thanks.
amateur
I don't have that size, but a trawl on eBay shows them available at less than £
Stimo22
Be careful because I think that fork leg threads are metric fine threads and most taps are metric course. Tracys tools are a good source of taps

Tracys tools are a good source of taps Tracy do not list M25 x 1mm, but Turbine Jon does - at an eye watering price https://www.turbinejon.com/product/m25-metric-hss-taps-right-hand-thread-left-hand-thread/ Edited November 13, 2020 by amateur
macca2017
Are you sure its not M25 x 1.5mm this is metric fine (fairly standard) 25 x 1 is extra fine think you will struggle to get this thread.

John_R
If it's just a clean up job, try a thread chaser. Edited November 14, 2020 by John_R
figgy
Sure that's camera thread pitch. Can you not make a 25mm by 1mm external thread, cut some grooves down it and use that to chase and clean threads out. Used this on pipe threads loads over the years. If I had the right size steel I'd have made you one and posted it to you. Any lathe men near you? Or any on here close enough to make you one. Give Ditchman a shout, he may be able to help. That's now getting a bit complicated. If no-one has one to lend, they are not that expensive to buy, albeit from China
