mel b3
evening guys. i was admiring the router sledge , and the log pile wood in the earlier thread , and i thought id post a couple of pics of things that i made at the weekend , theyre all made from oak firewood that was in my log pile , theyve already had a couple of coats of oil , and theyre just waiting to be waxed. its a real shame that the pics dont do them justice. mel b3
Thank you for your generous words gents. I'm a relative newbie to working with wood ( I've always been a metal basher), but I really love the randomness and beauty of wood , and I especially love the (just found it ) look . Yes I prefer working with wood over metal the smell of wood over burning metal any day . How wood realy comes to life after its sanded and oiled up brings out the beauty in the timber . I've made quite a few of the tealight holders over the last month or so , each time I cut the holes with a forstner bit , the smell is absolutely amazing . Each piece of wood smells completely different , and some of it smells like aftershave. 15 hours ago, Walker570 said: I knew that you could thread needles for she who must be obey but didn't know you to be so talented. Nice. Just for the record. I'm the most senior assistant needle threader in my house 😅.
